Hello! My name is Davel F. Hamue and this is my digital media tutorial for Carmine Magazine. I was asked to give a basic overview of how I create my work in order to help anyone who is having a bit of trouble with the subject. Let’s begin shall we?

Step 1:
The first and essentially the most important step is to have a solid idea of what you’re going to do. The best way to do this is to work on a few sketches and pick the idea that works best for you. Once you have that idea, it’s time to sit down and draw it.

  • Art News Blog posted Online Tips for Artists including my favorite: Answer email that you receive about your art promptly. (I need to be more on top of that myself actually.)

  • A blog called Daily Routines captures the daily lives of artists, writers, photographers, scientists, architects, musicians, filmmakers and salesmen. This is a fascinating read. Check out the artists section.
