Hi Carmine Magazine readers,
I apologize, I should have posted about this sooner, but I have been swamped with off line life at the moment. Things should return to normal next week (the first week of February).
Thank you,
Jami Lee Rosa

Hello! My name is Davel F. Hamue and this is my digital media tutorial for Carmine Magazine. I was asked to give a basic overview of how I create my work in order to help anyone who is having a bit of trouble with the subject. Let’s begin shall we?
Step 1:
The first and essentially the most important step is to have a solid idea of what you’re going to do. The best way to do this is to work on a few sketches and pick the idea that works best for you. Once you have that idea, it’s time to sit down and draw it.

Carmine Magazine: What’s your favorite piece you’ve ever done? (Please provide a picture)
Davel F. Hamue: That’s always such a hard question to answer because I always fall in love with the last thing I worked on. Even after its done I’ll still harp on it. But I honestly have to say its this piece I entered into an album art contest in the beginning of December. It’s currently untitled but I have a few names for it in mind. I went a little crazy while making it. I scrutinized every little detail. It was quite the interesting process.
CM:If you could merge any two artist’s styles into your own which would you choose?
DFH: Ashley Wood and Dave McKean. If their styles came together it would just give people nightmares, which is what I’m all about.

“I would say that before being a photographer, I am a collector of emotion, I think that through my small photos can feel the emotion, pure, without artifice, without editing, without cropping or Indeed, just one of the shoot.”
Carmine Magazine: What’s your favorite piece you’ve ever done? (Please provide a picture)
Christof Dagras: The last,(, laughing), no, I think I like them all but I confess a weakness for “free”;. This picture is the trigger of my photographic adventure …
CM: If you could merge any two artist’s styles into your own which would you choose?
CD: This is not an easy question! Photographer undoubtedly Michael Kanne, its series of stunning beauty. Raoul Dufy, painter, particularly the work “Collioure sans voiles ..”; I have to post, she follows everywhere.

Carmine Magazine: What drives you to create? Also, what inspires you and your work?
Star St. Germain: I’m constantly inspired by the world around me and the talented, amazing people in it.
Almost all the art I make is a direct response to another person I’ve interacted with.
I also consider myself lucky to be surrounded by a group of smart, creative, and technical friends who continually push me to do more.
CM: Were you formally trained in art or self taught? Do you think it has
helped you or hindered you?
SSG: I went to Massachusetts College of Art, where I was in the Studio for Interrelated Media.
To say it was helpful would be an understatement, this department made me what I am.
Throughout my life, I’ve worked in many different forms of media.
The whole time, someone was always saying I should choose something to concentrate on, or at least narrow my choices.
Studying interrelated media made me realize that I’m allowed to express myself however I see fit, so I do.
I am not limited by the medium, so I’m better able to concentrate on message.
